Pathological Oncology Unit

HYGEIA Hospital’s Pathological Oncology Unit, admits patients who do not need 24-hour medical monitoring (usually patients with oncological, hematological, neurological problems and / or patients requiring transfusions).

The Unit meets patient needs with a subtle and low cost; usually administration of intravenous medications, accompanied by a few-hour hospitalization, in a civilized and friendly environment with respect and care.

Hygeia’s Pathological Oncology Unit is fully staffed with personnel with years of experience, that specializes in the administration of cytotoxic drugs. The Unit offers secretariat and patient admission support in order to facilitate patient admissions and discharges. It is equipped with 3 machines of vertical laminar airflow which allow the preparation of cytotoxic drugs. There is also the possibility of applying hypothermic headsets that promote the avoidance of hair loss. There are 27 individual treatment sites, each providing patient autonomy area with TV, radio, telephone and a companion armchair. Patients receive treatment and leave the hospital at the end of treatment.
