7th Internal Medicine Department

The 7^th Internal Medicine Department deals with the diagnosis, management and treatment of all medical conditions in the field of Internal Medicine.

Along with inpatient hospitalizations, the Department also treats a large number of outpatients, either emergency cases or scheduled appointments, and gives great emphasis on patients’ follow-up after their discharge from the Hospital.

Dr Stergios Tasiopoulos, Director of the Department, attending physician in HYGEIA hospital since 2004, apart from his clinical, research, educational and administrative skills, has significantly contributed in the modernization process and accreditation by the Joint Commission International. He plays an important role in the design and pilot implementation of Patients Electronic Health Records of Hygeia Hospital.

Dr Efthymia Papadopoulou has a Master’s Degree in Diabetes Mellitus and Obesity, and therefore the Department can also handle treatment and monitoring of patients with diabetes, both during their hospitalization and as outpatients.

Dr Georgia Gioni has professional experience in Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Department.

In order to provide quick and efficient management, based on each patient’s specific needs, the Department has an excellent cooperation with every Hospital Division: Clinical Laboratories, Imaging Departments and Doctors of other specialties. Our top priority is to ensure the quality of the provided medical services, meeting the high standards of JCI accreditation.
