The department is involved in:

Diagnosis and treatment of patients with Internal Medicine problems
Difficult cases in infectious diseases ( diagnostic problems and therapy)

The Clinic also participates in educational events organized by the Hospital and in various Greek and international research protocols

Outpatient Clinic for patients with:

Osteomyelitis and soft tissue infections
Urinary tract infections (recurrent urinary tract infections, prostatitis, etc.)
Breast Infections
Hospital infections by multi-resistant bacteria
Upper and lower respiratory tract infections including Tuberculosis
Fever of unknown origin
Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome
Specific infections like brucellosis, malaria, Ricketsiosis, Salmonellosis, etc.
Immunocompromized host infections
Systemic mycoses
General problems in Internal medicine, check up, etc.

In cooperation with MITERA and LETO hospitals, both members of HYGEIA Group, the 6th Internal Medicine Clinic offers advice and consultation in infections during pregnancy that may pose a threat to a number of couples (cytomegavirus, toxoplasmosis, etc).
