Diabetes Department

It was established in 1986 headed by the Director Christos Sp. Zoupas, Diabetologist. With time, the Clinic became one of the most technologically advanced and highly equipped Diabetic Centers in our country. A pioneer in Diabetology developments with innovative applications in technology and therapeutic treatment of Diabetes Mellitus 1 and 2.

It is the most specialized Center for Diabetes and pregnancy and the application of insulin pumps in children as well as young adults with type 1 diabetes mellitus. It provides structured care to diabetic Foot and leg, with specialized medical staff (podiatrist – podologist) achieving impressive results.

It is par excellence the most recognized center by various pharmaceutical companies, selecting it as one of the clinical application centers for various new drugs and insulins.

The Center is visited annually by 3 to 4 thousand outpatients while 500 – 600 inpatients facing various problems are being followed up annually.

It participates in international and Greek conferences. For 25 years now, it has been organizing training seminars for diabetic patients in Athens and other cities of Greece and Cyprus on an annual basis; such seminars have become an institution; the Center has also organized Scientific Conferences on Diabetes Mellitus-Obesity and Metabolism.
