PET/CT in Lymphomas
The book PET/CT in Lymphomas: A Case-Based Atlas, published in April 2016, was included in the list of top downloaded e-books for 2017 by publisher Springer. The book was edited by Ioannis Andreou, Director of the HYGEIA & MITERA Imaging Departments, Paris Kosmidis, Director of HYGEIA Hospital’s 2nd Medical Oncology Clinic, and Athanasios D. Gouliamos, Professor Emeritus of Radiology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
In the last years, the use of the FDG-PET/CT method in the initial assessment, management and monitoring of lymphomas has redefined everyday clinical practice. The aim of this book is to help everyone understand the role and limitations of the FDG-PET/CT method in assessing patients with lymphoma, so that it may be used correctly in managing this disease. The authors present typical examples of various types of Hodgkin’s and non-Hodgkin’s lymphomas in adults, children and adolescents. In these examples, each case is presented in a structured manner: a small introduction, followed by typical images of similar exams and concluding with a comment and a bibliography review. The study of the cases contained in the book will assist imaging specialists and clinical physicians to gain a comprehensive overview of the various aspects of the lymphoma problem, not just from the perspective of their own specialty, but as members of a multi-disciplinary team.
The book follows the success of the first book edited by the same authors and published by the same publisher in 2015, Imaging in Clinical Oncology. Specifically, the book was downloaded 200,000 times and Springer requested a second edition, which is currently underway.
