Movement disorders are a group of neurological conditions characterized by movement problems – either unwanted movements such as tremor, jitter or twitching, or slowness of movements, such as Parkinson’s disease, that is the most common of these conditions and affects approximately 1% of the population. Their diagnosis and treatment is complex but effective, and there have been many recent exciting developments in this area.
The above is illustrated in the book with specific examples of each condition, which is published by Cambridge University Press and written by the associate professor of neuroscience, Maria Stamelou, head of the Department of Hygieny, with the same name as Professor of University College London, England. This book will help neurologists and other clinicians identify and address this important group of neurological disorders. The book is written in English.
