Radiation Oncology Center Becomes European Center of Excellence

The HYGEIA Hospital Radiation Oncology Center became a European Reference Center after the latest agreement signed with Elekta, due to its unique, advanced equipment and the top- level services it offers for cancer treatment.

The Radiation Oncology Center is also the only one in Greece to have been selected by the International RadioSurgery Association (IRSA) as a Center of Excellence for Stereotactic Radiotherapy & Radiosurgery.

The HYGEIA Radiation Oncology Center is the most modern and well equipped such center in Greece and one of the best ones in Europe. It is equipped with cutting – edge technology (the unique for Greece VERSA HD^ΤΜ, Synergy AgilityΤΜ, Axesse^ΤΜ with the Hexapod robotic treatment couchtop, and Gamma Knife Perfexion) and has long experience in latest advanced radiotherapy techniques (IMRT, VMAT, IGRT, Sterotaxy and Radiosurgery), being the first Hospital to implement them in Greece, with the aim of offering optimal radiotherapy to its patients. Additionally, it has a special medical team dedicated to pediatric radiotherapy. It has the largest volume of pediatric patients in Greece and it is the only one that implements all the state of the art techniques, aiming at fully curing the children and preserving their quality of life.
