Gold Seal of Approval by Joint Commission International

13 years a leader in quality healthcare services
HYGEIA has been successful evaluated by Joint Commission International (JCI) and maintained its Gold Seal of Approval® for another 3 years. This signals the 13th year straight that HYGEIA has been holding this prestigious accreditation by the internationally recognized Accreditation Standard for Healthcare Organizations.
During the re-accreditation inspection, which was conducted in the last week of November, a team of qualified inspectors with international expertise evaluated HYGEIA’s compliance based on 1,200 strict measurable elements instituted by JCI, which cover all operations within a hospital setting. Areas inspected during the procedure included the International Patient Safety Goals, patient care, anesthesia and surgical care, drug management, patient and family training, preventing and controlling infections, governance and leadership, facility management, qualifications and education of employees, and information management.
Note that Joint Commission International has created its operational standards after consultations with leading healthcare providers, international experts and patients. These standards, which incorporate the current scientific literature and expert consensus, help organizations measure, assess and improve their performance.
As HYGEIA Chairman and CEO, Mr. Andreas Kartapanis, stated, “This accreditation, which yet again places us among the leading healthcare organizations to receive the JCI Gold Seal of Approval, makes us proud and proves that our patients and people are at the core of our activities. We have renewed once again the commitment of our staff and doctors to stand at the forefront of developments and strive to be the best every single day. Driven by science, we will continue improving with the same passion and dedication, offering healthcare services of the highest standards, with a deep sense of responsibility towards those who entrust us with their most valuable asset, their health.”
