Andreas Vgenopoulos Postgraduate Internship Program

The ceremony marking the end of the latest Andreas Vgenopoulos Postgraduate Internship Program, renamed as such in honor of the late Chairman of the Hospital’s Board of Directors, was successfully held at HYGEIA Hospital.

The 4-month program is funded by HYGEIA, in association with the Scientific Union of HYGEIA Doctors. It caters for young doctors who wish to specialize in internal medicine and surgery and want to work as hospital physicians. At the end of the 4-month program, the students receive attendance certificates and €1500 in financial aid.

Mr Platonas Kechagias, urologist and scientific associate at HYGEIA, gave the keynote speech entitled “Musings on the Developments in Medicine.” The Chairman of the Scientific Union of HYGEIA Doctors, Mr Vasilios Prasopoulos, further added, “The postgraduate program is very important for young doctors and we have been very fortunate all these years for the relentless financial and moral support offered by the HYGEIA Management.” Mr Prasopoulos further thanked the hospital doctors for their significant contribution to the postgraduate program. He praised the energy, keenness and enthusiasm they demonstrate when disseminating their knowledge and experience to their young colleagues, putting in much of their personal time and effort. In the end, though, as he noted, they are rewarded by the gratitude and recognition they receive from their students. Finally, he thanked the Board members of the Scientific Union of HYGEIA Doctors.
