Environment

Our staff complies with the relevant environmental legislation and expends efforts to use proper environmental practices when it comes to preventing pollution, as well as in all other aspects of our business activities. All our employees fully share the Group’s common vision for sustainable development and operation that focus on environmental protection.  We pledge to support environmental protection and limit the potential impact of our activities on the environment, to the extent that this is reasonably possible.

Each year, we evaluate our environmental policy and the impact of our activities and services on the environment. Based on this evaluation, we try to improve our environmental performance, by setting targets and programs, specifying indicators and monitoring our performance against the Environmental Management System we have adopted, which was certified in May 2014.

Meanwhile, HYGEIA continues to grow and implement Environmental Management System ISO 14001, which was certified in May 2014. This certification constituted a priority for the Hospital, which mainly aims at its future green operation, both as a means for saving resources and as a method of growth. Further proof of our commitment to efficiently manage the environmental issues that concern or affect us is the fact that in the period 2012-2014, HYGEIA spent €1,700,000 in actions to protect the environment (excluding urban waste management).
