HYGEIA Hospital and MITERA Children’s Hospital, both members of HYGEIA Group, offer free-of-charge consultations for medical emergencies to the holders of the Artemis Card* and their families. The services are available after-hours from 10pm to 7am daily, and on a 24-hour basis on weekends and official holidays. Patients have access to internists, cardiologists, orthopedic specialists and surgeons at HYGEIA Hospital, and pediatricians and pediatric surgeons at MITERA Hospital.
Holders are also entitled to a 30% discount off non-invasive diagnostic exams and procedures that may arise from the emergencies treated at the outpatient clinic of either hospital.
* The Artemis Card is an initiative of the Municipality of Marousi, in partnership with the local trade association, and is offered free-of-charge to the citizens of Marousi.
In 2008, HYGEIA Hospital donated a fully-equipped ambulance to the Municipality of Marousi, with the aim of upgrading the healthcare services offered to citizens.
In 2013, it donated 10 automatic defibrillators, which were installed in the following public areas, where they are readily available in case of emergency: the Marousi Town Hall, the Arts & Culture Center, the Sports Center, the Spyros Louis gym, the Steki Neon municipal gym, the central Day Center for the Elderly (KAPI), the Municipal Medical Center and the External Crew Department.
In April 2014, HYGEIA delivered large quantities of medical supplies, medications and cleaning products to the Marousi Police Station, to meet the needs of immigrants hosted there.
In 2013 and 2015, HYGEIA Hospital financially supported the Municipality of Marousi Vulnerable Social Group Mutual Aid Fund. In addition, it bought tickets to a charity concert hosted by the Municipality. The proceeds raised from the event were used to support vulnerable social groups.
In September 2012, HYGEIA Hospital donated 65 fully-stocked first-aid kits as well as medicinal products (essential/non-prescription) to the schools of the Municipality of Marousi. The action forms part of the Hospital’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, in response to the Municipality’s request for pharmaceutical support to all the local schools (kindergartens, primary schools, high schools and special schools). During a special ceremony held at the Marousi Town Hall on Monday September 10, representatives from HYGEIA Hospital, accompanied by the Hospital’s ambulances, handed over the first-aid kits to the Mayor of Marousi, Mr Georgios Patoulis. The ceremony was attended by teachers and students from local schools, and representatives from the Municipality’s Education Department and Corporate Social Responsibility Office.
The annual Spyros Louis race honoring the golden Marathon winner was organized yet again on Sunday February 2, 2014, with more than 1,000 runners of all ages participating.
HYGEIA Hospital sponsored the race, which was organized by the Municipality of Marousi, in partnership with MDA Hellas, the muscular dystrophy association. It also made an ambulance available to meet the needs of the athletes during the race.
The race aimed at offering the citizens of Marousi and the greater Athens region the chance to participate in a race that honors Spyros Louis, at motivating young people to get into sports and running, and at supporting the actions of MDA Hellas, as well as other charitable associations within the Municipality of Marousi. The race included three events: 10k run, 5k run and children’s 1k run.
