New Generation/Educational Community

At HYGEIA Group, we believe that each and every one of us must expend efforts to make the new generation feel safe and secure every single day.

As part of this, it donated first-aid kits to schools through the local municipalities, so that emergencies could be tackled promptly. It also offered financial aid, and donated equipment and various supplies, as listed below.

First-aid kits fully stocked with medical supplies and essential/non-prescription medications were distributed to the following schools through their respective municipalities.

Schools located within the Municipality of Keratsini-Drapetsona: 110 kits (May 2014)
Schools located within the Municipality of Filothei-Psychiko: 23 kits (March 2013)
Schools located within the Municipality of Ilion: 44 kits (April 2013)
Schools located within the Municipality of Marousi: 65 kits (September 2012)
Schools located within the Municipality of Argyroupoli-Elliniko: 55 kits (November 2011)

In addition, another 28 first-aid kits were donated to various other schools, while the medical supplies were replenished in another 22 schools.

Morning Snacks to Primary Schools: HYGEIA Hospital took action and supported a primary school in the area of Votanikos throughout 2012, offering morning snacks to the students daily. The action continued through to 2013, while in 2014, the number of students increased to 50. It also donated a computer, a printer and a projector to the school. The distribution of morning snacks continues to date.

Furthermore, HYGEIA Hospital donated:

A photocopier to a primary school in Liosia (February 2014)
Printers to the following schools: 12th Primary School of Galatsi; the Kindergarten of Nea Trapezounta, Piera; the Primary School of Athikia, Corinth; and the Primary School of Afidnes (2014)
250 school bags to the children of underprivileged families supported by the City of Athens Homeless Shelter (September 2014)
A computer and a white board to the Primary School of Evinochori (2013)
Bed linen and chairs to the Children’s Daycare Center of Tripoli (2013) and a computer to the 20th Primary School of Acharnes (2014)
Thermoluminescent dosimeter equipment to the Medical Physics Lab of the University of Athens Medical School – the equipment belonged to the Hospital’s Central Labs (2013)
Three computers and a printer (December 2011), food (December 2011 and April 2012), school supplies (September 2012) and toys (May 2013) to the Ekali Boarding School
Equipment previously belonging to HYGEIA, in excellent condition, to various schools: 15 printers/photocopiers, examination bed, electronics, carper, computers, tables and chairs (2012)

Financial Support

In 2013, we supported the 2nd Arsakeio Student Conference on the topic “Science and Quality of Life: Is Man the Measure?” focusing on Health and the Environment, while since 2012, we have been financially supporting the annual volunteer blood drive organized in a Senior High School in Irakleio, Athens.
A €3,000 scholarship was awarded to Leonteios School in 2013 for medical studies.
Financial support to the amount of €3,000 was also offered to The Negotiation Challenge (TNC), the international negotiation competition open for graduate students, which was organized by the ALBA Graduate Business School at The American College of Greece on April 5 & 6, 2013. The teams included graduates from select business and law schools around the world, such as Harvard Law School, the Chinese University of Hong Kong and ESSEC.
In 2012, we offered financial support amounting to €7,500 to two students at the Democritus University of Thrace, for the purposes of their postgraduate studies in Social Policy & Social Work.
