International Healthcare Commission (IHC).
IHC is based in the USA; since 2009 it has been conducting international independent hospital performance ratings in 270 countries worldwide, for health insurance companies, self-insured companies and medical tourism agencies.
The IHC uses 20 key performance indicator (KPI) criteria to rate the hospitals. HYGEIA was selected based on a detailed assessment procedure for private healthcare units in Greece, which focused on a series of factors, such as: the range of clinical specialties, the safety of services, the effective management of international patients, the latest generation medical equipment, and the international accreditations and certifications. HYGEIA is certified to ISO 9001 (Quality Management System), 14001 (Environmental Management System), 15189 (Medical Laboratory Quality Management System) and OHSAS 18001 (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series). HYGEIA is also the only hospital in Greece to have been accredited by Joint Commission International (JCI), the leading internationally recognized quality standard for the provision of safe and effective patient care.
