1st Award of the Society of Thoracic – Cardio and Vascular Surgery to Physicians of Hygeia Group
ΗYGEIA Group’s physicians were awarded with the first prize of the Society of Thoracic-Cardio and Vascular Surgery for the best and most original announcement : ‘thoracoscopic lobectomy in a 17 month infant with congenital adenomatous malformation ” at the 8th National Conference of Thoracic –Cardio and Vascular Surgeons:

This honorary distinction was awarded to mark the successful surgical repair of an infant at MITERA Hospital (Pediatric Department), led by a team of doctors of HYGEIA Group: Dr. Latoufis (Anesthesiologist), Dr. Spirakis (Pediatric Surgeon) and Dr Iliades (Thoracic surgeon). On the same day, the baby was in his mother’s arms and on the second day, at the warmth of his home. The technique of thoracoscopic lobectomy on a 17 month infant was firstly applied in Greece after he was diagnosed with C CAM (congenital cystic-glandular abnormality of the median lobe).
