The Master Class on Uterine Cervical Cancer was successfully held at the N. Louros Conference Center, MITERA Hospital, on March 18, 2016. The event was organized by the 1st Oncology Clinic of HYGEIA Hospital, in association with the Greek College of Senology.
More than 150 gynecological cancer specialists received training, exchanged views and shared their experiences during the seminar. Great emphasis was placed on prevention through HPV vaccines, early diagnosis through modern cytology, sensitive molecular techniques for diagnosing HPV, and the diagnostic and therapeutic role of colposcopy methods. The advancements in gynecology/oncology surgery for treatment of the disease were also presented, as well as the benefits of radiotherapy and the intratissue techniques available at HYGEIA Group.
Other issues raised were the latest developments in the systematic treatment of advanced disease with the integration of new medications to current practice, as well as the multitude of promising clinical studies into immunotherapy and targeted medications.
