4th Medical & Nursing Meeting International Patient Safety Goals

The International Patient Safety Goals were at the focus of the 4th Medical & Nursing Meeting held on Friday December 10, 2010. The Meeting was organized by HYGEIA Hospital’s Nursing and Medical Services Departments, under the aegis of HYGEIA’s Scientific Board, Educational Committee and Scientific Union of Doctors.
International Patient Safety Goals are a way of safeguarding quality and offering safe healthcare services, in accordance with the Joint Commission International quality standards. They focus on clinical practice, as well as risk management, prevention of infections, safe use of medications and safe surgical procedures.
The speakers included I. Apostolakis, Director of the Medical Services Department; P. Kosmidis, former Scientific Board Chairman; and A. Panoutsopoulou, Director of the Nursing Department.
