World Hand Hygiene Day

HYGEIA participated in the World Health Organization (WHO) campaign “SAVE LIVES: Clean Your Hands!” for the 6th year running. The campaign aims at limiting the risk of spreading germs and subsequently transmitting infections, through informational and educational actions.

A team from the HYGEIA Nursing Division and the Infections Control Committee undertook the task of providing useful information to the public (visitors/employees). Antibacterial wipes were also distributed.

In addition, special hand sanitizers were placed at the HYGEIA Hospital main entrance, the Outpatient Clinics and the doctor’s offices, while the nurses distributed informational brochures. Special badges were presented to healthcare professionals who adhered to the 5 Moments for Hand Hygiene, during a special event held on May 5.

Finally, an information campaign on the 5 Moments for Hand Hygiene was launched on social media and the official Hospital website, for the general public.
