Hellenic Healthcare Group: Silver Medal from EcoVadis for 2021 in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility
15 February 2022
The Hellenic Healthcare Group (HHG) was distinguished yet again, receiving the Silver Medal from EcoVadis, one of the world’s most trusted providers of business sustainability ratings, for the socially responsible practices it applies in terms of sustainability and sustainable development.
At the Hellenic Healthcare Group, sustainable development is not just a prerequisite, but an integral part of our corporate DNA. We perceive development as striving for continuous growth, coupled with a deep sense of responsibility towards all those who entrust us with their most valuable asset, their health. We consciously follow a business model that is not limited to enhancing our financials, but also aspires to disseminate benefits and values within the country, based on compassion and medical excellence; a business model with the concept of responsibility – towards patients, employees, the environment and mainly society – at its core.
The Silver Medal is testament to the commitment and ongoing improvement of the HHG in all three ESG pillars: Environment, Society and Governance. According to the assessment, the HHG ranked in the top 10% of healthcare providers globally in Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility issues, among the 301 companies that were assessed from around the world.
The EcoVadis CSR rating measures the quality of the Corporate Social Responsibility management systems of each company through the policies it has adopted, the practices it applies and its results. The assessment uses 21 criteria, which are grouped into four themes: environment, labor and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
These criteria are based on international standards, such as the Principles of the UN Global Compact, the International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions, the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards and the ISO 26000 standard.
EcoVadis is the leading European organization for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) ratings, based on business practices and the commitment of each company to sustainable development. EcoVadis covers 198 vendor categories in 155 countries and has more than 150 experienced Corporate Social Responsibility analysts. More than 55,000 companies and 300 industry leaders have joined the EcoVadis rating platform since 2007.
