Latest Developments in Dementia 2008, Alzheimer’s Disease: From Cholinesterase Inhibitors to Stem Cell Treatment

A Meeting on the topic “Latest Developments in Dementia – Alzheimer’s Disease: From Cholinesterase Inhibitors to Stem Cell Treatment” was held at King George Hotel on February 22-23, 2008. The Meeting was organized by HYGEIA Hospital’s Memory Clinic and the Athens Association of Alzheimer’s Disease & Related Disorders.

Distinguished Greek and foreign speakers participated in the Meeting. These included N. Skarmeas, Professor of Neurology at Columbia University, New York, who talked about the significance of the traditional Greek diet, and Dr P. Matsa, Director of the Pasteur Institute, who focused on stem cells and their potential in treating neurodegenerative brain diseases.
