"N. Louros" Conference Center MITERA Hospital
The major progress achieved over the last few years in liver diseases, with regard to diagnosis, pathogenesis and treatment, has created the need for continuous medical updates. These updates must be made by responsible experts, who apart from being distinguished as scientists, must also have recognized teaching abilities, so as to be able to convey modern knowledge in a simple and clear manner.
The Scientific Meeting held at the N. Louros Conference Center, located within MITERA Hospital, on Friday November 26, 2010, met all these conditions. It was organized by HYGEIA Hospital and the Hellenic Association for the Study of Liver. The Organizing Committee Chairman was Dimitrios Tsantoulas, Assistant Professor and Director HYGEIA Hospital’s Hepatology Department. Many interesting topics were presented during the Meeting by HYGEIA physicians and distinguished professors from Greek and foreign universities.
The topics included non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, the contribution of liver to inflammatory bowel disease, liver during pregnancy, autoimmune hepatitis, benign focal liver lesions, hepatocellular carcinoma, liver transplant, acute liver failure and the latest treatment methods in chronic hepatitis B and C.
