Ear-Nose-Throat

HYGEIA Hospital’s Ear-Nose-Throat Department, offers every diagnostic, therapeutic and surgical service for any case and condition in these sensitive areas of our body. It is fully equipped with state-of-the-art machinery, while physicians, nurses and administrative staff have been extensively specialized in Greece and abroad.

The Ear-Nose-Throat Department operates within a modern hospital infrastructure, an important element and advantage to its operation, since it offers full coverage with the harmonious cooperation of other Departments.

Thus, aside from the Surgical Section which serves all ENL specialties, the Department undertakes the following check-ups:

Hearing and posterior labyrinth with audiogram, tympanogram or with the determination of sound reflexes and with electronystagmogram. In this way, the auditory function and the posterior labyrinth are fully checked, in cases of dizziness or vertigo.
In all partial areas like the epipharynx, the nasal cavities, the pharynx, the hypopharynx and the larynx. For them, the method of endoscopy and recording of these areas with Video-camera is used.

It is a painless and very quick method. Also, it allows for the control of difficult, hard-to-approach areas, while it can record the pathological finding, place it on file and then, compare it, after treatment, to determine the result.

In the Ear-Nose-Throat Department we perform a series of examinations necessary to evaluate swallowing, breath while speaking and to prevent and treat voice disorders.
