4th National Conference of Oncology Imaging

The 4th Greek Congress on Oncologic Imaging was successfully held in Thessaloniki from December 17, 2015 to December 19, 2015. More than 500 people attended the event, mostly from universities and hospitals of northern Greece.

The idea to pair up the specialties of Oncology and Imaging and institute a joint meeting/congress belongs to Mr P. Kosmidis, Director of the 2nd Oncology Clinic at HYGEIA Hospital, and Mr I. Andreou, Director of the HYGEIA-MITERA Imaging Departments. It was soon met with success (back in 2009) and caught on among oncology and imaging specialists, resulting in exchange of opinions and updates on the latest developments in the fields of Oncology and Imaging. It actually filled a gap, especially given that our times are marked by continuous advancements in molecular biology, surgical oncology, targeted radiotherapy, imaging methods and molecular imaging.

The Congress has been established as a leading event, which is organized every two years and is widely accepted by the medical associations of the specialties participating in it.
