The HYGEIA Medical Association (HMA) organized an informational Meeting on tax and social insurance issues for physicians. The Meeting was held at the N. Louros Conference Center, MITERA Hospital, on Saturday December 10, 2016.
The Meeting was coordinated by HMA Chairman and orthopedic specialist Mr Pantelis Triantafyllidis, while Mr Andreas Kartapanis, HYGEIA Group CEO, and Mr S. Kaliampakos, HMA General Secretary, Athens Medical Association BoD member and cardiologist, delivered welcoming speeches.
The Meeting consisted of three parts.
The first part was chaired by vascular surgeon Mr F. Milas and radiologist Mr D. Kechagias. Speeches were delivered by Athens Medical Association lawyer Ms Anna Tsitoura, who elaborated on legal issues arising from the new social insurance law, and tax advisor Mr Theodoros Barmpouris, who talked about the impact of the new tax law on doctors and medical companies.
The second part was chaired by cardiologists Mr G. Politakis and Mr C. Xenodochidis. Mr G. Romanias, economist, former lawyer and former Social Insurance General Secretary, spoke about the new social insurance law, including the changes for doctors (contributions, pensions and single pension holders). Mr Stathis Tsoukalos, obstetrician/gynecologist and TSAY (insurance body for Greek healthcare professionals) Chairman, delivered the speech “TSAY: From the Past to the Future”.
The third part was chaired by cardiac surgeon Mr Apostolos Tsolakis, while a long and vivid discussion followed to update the doctors and answer all their questions.
The Meeting was quite interesting, based on very current issues. The speakers had long experience and expertise on the topics they presented, while the audience, which consisted of HYGEIA & MITERA doctors, participated in the discussions and raised multiple questions.
