The Latest Developments in the Prevention of Cardiovascular Diseases

Although the cardiovascular epidemic of the 20th century seems to be receding in high-income countries, it is increasingly becoming exacerbated in low-income ones. Prevention is key to tackling this epidemic. So if the risk factors – such as smoking, hypertension, bad nutrition, obesity, diabetes mellitus and hyperlipidemia – are addressed as soon as possible, this may assist significantly in limiting cardiovascular diseases.

These were some of the topics discussed during the 2nd educational meeting on “The Latest Developments in the Prevention of Cardiovascular Diseases”. The event was held in the N. Louros Conference Center, MITERA Hospital, on 21/02/2017. It was jointly organized by the Hellenic Society for Cardiovascular Health and the Scientific Union of HYGEIA Doctors. Many physicians of various specialties attended the successful event. The meeting included interesting lectures by highly acclaimed scientists, while the audience actively participated in the discussions that followed each presentation.
