For the Children of FLOGA
HYGEIA Group has been supporting the FLOGA Association of Parents of Children with Cancer for a number of years, offering healthcare services, financial aid and a warm embrace to the children assisted by the Association.
Since 2009, the FLOGA children have been consistently undergoing free-of-charge treatments at the HYGEIA Hospital Radiation Oncology Center and Gamma-Knife Brain Radiosurgery Department, with no waits or hassles.
HYGEIA Group has also been supporting FLOGA through a series of actions:
- HYGEIA Hospital has been donating €1 to FLOGA for each bottle of HYGEIA water sold at the Flocafe located within the Hospital.
- The AlfaLab Molecular Biology & Cytogenetics Center charges special rates for FLOGA patients.
- Y-Logimed offers a range of disposable medical supplies (disposable gloves in various sizes, surgical masks, oxygen masks, bandages, etc), addressing the needs of the Association’s staff when offering medical care to the children.
- MITERA Hospital has placed a collection box on site to assist the FLOGA Association in its efforts. The money collected is delivered to the Association on a regular basis.
In 2014, HYGEIA participated in and supported the annual race that honors Spyros Louis, organized by the Municipality of Marousi and MDA Hellas. At the finishing line, HYGEIA volunteers distributed bracelets with the word “Believe” on them, while a photo booth had been set up for visitors. All proceeds were donated to FLOGA.
On the occasion of the International Childhood Cancer Day in 2009, the FLOGA board of directors held an event at the House of the FLOGA Children, where it thanked HYGEIA for its valuable support and awarded it a commemorative gift with drawings that had been painted by FLOGA children. In 2013, FLOGA honored HYGEIA Group yet again with the major sponsor award, during a ceremony held in the Athens Musical Hall marking the 30-year anniversary of the Association.
In February 2016, HYGEIA responded positively to the request of the FLOGA Association of Parents of Children with Cancer for a young child who had to undergo surgery in the vocal chords. The procedure was successfully performed at HYGEIA Hospital.
