A total of 310 people from Greece and abroad attended the event. These included 160 physicians of various medical specialties, 60 students, and 40 technicians and nurses. All of them participated actively in the Congress and exchanged information and views on related issues.
Experienced speakers (58) from university, private and public hospitals presented modern topics regarding oncologic imaging during nine round-table discussions, four lectures and one satellite convention.
All the developments in imaging that contribute to prevention, early diagnosis, monitoring and support for cancer patients were discussed during the Congress.
Ultrasounds, CTs, MRIs, scintigraphies, PET and interventional methods were analyzed in detail.
All the scientists noted the need for collaboration among oncologists, surgeons, imaging specialists, radiologists and nurses, to the benefit of cancer sufferers.
The Congress is held every two years, with the first one held in 2009. The next one is scheduled for 2019.
